The Answers You Need
What does KoS mean?
KoS stands for kill on sight. This can be a very frustrating experience for the victim and usually leaves a player/group feeling unwelcome.
What is considered a KoS attack?
KoS attacks are considered any attack on a player or group of players that results in their characters death without any interaction with them leading up to the confrontation.
What can be done to ensure you are not accused of KoSing a player.
Before attacking the players interact with them and roleplay with them. The conversation may still result in a pvp encounter but the people involved were given an experience that they can use to make what transpired make sense. This also usually results in less hurt feelings and ill will towards the players and server.
What can be done about a player or tribe that is aggressive?
If you are having problems with a player or tribe that is actively PvPing and you cannot handle them on your own seek out aid from other players. There are always players out there willing to defend those less fortunate than themselves, even if it requires paying them to do so.
How can I play an aggressive character without ruining the other players enjoyment on the server?
Remember that not all interactions have to end with a fight. Give the players a way out of the situation by making them do something for you, or give you something.
Why are the rates so high?
We have seen in past servers that we played on that having rates be too low can cause burn out, and frustration during pvp situations. People build up a base, breed their dinos and then when they lose a battle they have to make such a large commitment to build back up that usually they give up, and stop playing. We feel that having higher rates will alleviate some of the grind, and ultimately give players more time to RP rather than sit at base gathering materials.
Why did we go back to taming speed over wild dino consumption?
We noticed that there were several problems arising from wild dino consumption such as passive tames not working properly, dinos starving before becoming tamed, along with some other weird stuff. So we decided to go back to the proven to work taming multiplier instead.
